Good costume. Nice fabric. Runs a bit small, though. Headband/hairtye is much shorter than I expected.

  • PAMOM:

The reviews I read were correct.. the top on this is so small, my daughter could barely get it on and it hurt her in the armholes because it was so tight.

The poodle on the skirt was a felt piece that was falling off.. I had to glue it back on..

I would have returned this product if it wouldn’t have been so close to Halloween.

The skirt seemed to be sized correctly but the top was about two sizes under.
The scarf was very short, hard to even tie on the head.

  • Dissatisfied:

    Dear Costume Craze,
We are returning the Girls Sock Hop Poodle Skirt 50s costume. The skirt was great. It was just what one would expect in terms of size and materials. The shirt that came with the costume was the problem. The shirt was about 23 inches for the chest. Only 21 inches below the rib cage. After looking at several clothing company charts for sizing, I can say with confidence that the shirt you shipped us was a size 5. We ordered a Medium costume (Sizes 8-10).

I tried to rectify this problem through email and then by phone. The staff initially could not tell me if the shirt was the correct size. They said it would take days to find out. I told them that was unacceptable. Then they told me that all the medium shirts were the same size as the shirt we received. So I asked what the dimension of a large costume shirt would be. They couldn’t tell me. The staff insisted that there was not a problem with the dimensions. A lady who called me said that some costumes “run small.” As though there are a lot of girls out there with a legs and a waist that are size 8 – but a trunk that is size five.

I can only say at this point that either you are selling a mis-sized top to every girl, in which case you can expect a LOT of returns or your customer service is a failure. I am posting this letter on Amazon.com as a product review, in hopes that no other customers will receive this same sort of service.

It is a shame that we wasted two weeks and return postage on a costume that, if we had known your sizing charts, we would have never ordered.

    Sincerely,
    John Grubb
